We have 10+ generously sized level Unpowered Caravan & Camping Sites set amongst shady trees near the entrance to the park only a minute's walk from the Murray River. Our unpowered sites are suited for smaller caravans, camper trailers and tents set out amongst the trees in a large open grassed area.

Unpowered site Torrumbarry Weir

If you're happy without power and just want a flat patch of grass under a red gum, an unpowered site Torrumbarry Weir is the cheapest way to stay at the park. No power box, no fuss, just space to pitch a tent or park a camper trailer for the night. Most of our unpowered sites sit back from the main road, so it's quieter than you'd expect for a spot this close to the weir.

We get asked a fair bit whether unpowered sites suit caravans as well as tents. Honestly, yes, plenty of travellers bring a van and run off a battery and solar panel for a night or two. Just check your rig doesn't need mains power for the fridge to last, because there's nothing to plug into out here. Camper trailers, swags, tents, roof-top set-ups, we get all sorts on these sites and it works fine as long as you're set up to be self-sufficient.

The other question that comes up is what's nearby if you're on a budget camping site rather than a powered one. You're still close enough to walk to the amenities block, and the weir itself is a short stroll away, good for an early morning look before the day warms up. Torrumbarry township has fuel and basic supplies if you forget something. It's not a resort, and we don't pretend it is, but for anyone chasing a genuine bush camping site experience without paying for power you're not using, an unpowered site Torrumbarry Weir gets the job done.

One thing worth mentioning: sites are grassy, not gravel, so after heavy rain things can get a bit soft underfoot. Bring a mallet that'll handle it and you'll be right.
