Where we are
Torrumbarry Weir Holiday Park sits directly on Torrumbarry Weir on the Murray River, within Gunbower National Park. The address is 835 Torrumbarry Weir Road, Patho. Echuca is about 40 km away, roughly a 30 minute drive, and Gunbower and Leitchville are about 15 minutes away.
What the park is known for
The park sits right on the weir with good water access, and the weir splits how the water gets used. Downstream is the fishing side, where people chase Murray cod, golden perch, redfin, silver perch and carp. Upstream is where the jet skis, water skiing and boating happen. The park boat ramp is on the downstream side and is included in your stay.
The park itself
There are 33 bookable units: 12 powered sites, 13 unpowered sites, 3 Deluxe Riverview Cabins, 3 Fleetwood Rainbow Cabins and 2 Southern Cross Cabins. Sites are mostly grass with some gravel, generously sized, with no maximum caravan length. The park also has 112 annual siteholders, and no permanent residents.
Facilities include the camp kitchen with free built-in barbecues, a fenced in-ground pool that is open over summer, two small playgrounds and two sandpits, an open grassed area, two amenities blocks with private shower cubicles, a laundry and a free dump point. Free Wi-Fi covers the park, though it is patchy and speed limited.
Who runs it
The park managers live on site, with park attendants. There are no fixed reception hours, and check-in is contactless: the boom gate code is sent to you on the morning of arrival. If you have a question before you arrive, email is best. Once you are on site, call the park manager.
Who loves it here
Fishing crews, families, boaties, people visiting their annual site, birdwatchers, walkers, kayakers, and anyone wanting to explore the Murray or just relax somewhere beautiful. Guests mention the camp kitchen, the location and the serenity most of all. The weather is northern Victorian: hot dry summers and cool winters. Summer is the best time to visit, and winter is the quiet season.
In one honest sentence: great facilities, fantastic location, awesome for boating, water skiing and family time.
