Book a Deluxe riverview cabin Torrumbarry Weir and you're waking up with the Murray right outside your window. That's the whole pitch, really. We've set these cabins along the bank so the deck faces the water, not the car park, and there's nothing between you and the river gums but a bit of lawn.

Inside you'll find a proper queen bed in the main room, bunks for the kids, and a kitchenette that's actually stocked enough to cook a full dinner rather than just reheat something. Reverse cycle air con keeps things comfortable whether it's a cold snap in winter or a stinking hot February. There's a private bathroom, a decent TV, and the deck's got outdoor chairs so you can sit with a coffee and watch the water go past. It's self-contained, so you don't need to trek anywhere for basics, that's the point of paying a bit more for the deluxe option over our standard cabins.

People ask us a lot whether the river cabins are worth the extra over a powered site. Honestly, if you've got kids or you just want to not be cooking on a camp stove for four days, yes. The other question we get is about fishing straight from the cabin, and yeah, you can wet a line off the bank near the weir most mornings, Murray cod and yellowbelly are both around if you know what you're doing. Bring your own gear though, we don't hire rods out.

Evenings here are the good bit. The light comes through the red gums low and orange, the weir's got that constant background hum of moving water, and it's a short stroll if you fancy a wander before dinner.
