Torrumbarry Weir Holiday Park sits directly on Torrumbarry Weir on the Murray River, within Gunbower National Park. The address is 835 Torrumbarry Weir Road, Patho VIC 3564. Enter the full address into your GPS or maps app before you set off.

Echuca is about 40 km away, roughly a 30 minute drive. Gunbower and Leitchville are about 15 minutes away, and the Torrumbarry Hotel and the BP Torrumbarry roadhouse are both about 10 minutes from the park.

The road in

The drive into the park is gravel, and the roads throughout the park are gravel too. Big rigs and long vans can get in and turn around comfortably, and there is no maximum caravan length. The speed limit inside the park is 5 km/h.

Telstra 4G works at the park and calls are fine. Optus 4G is poor, so if you are on Optus, load your directions before you leave the main road.

Arriving and checking in

Check-in is contactless. The park has a boom gate, and the gate code is sent to you on the morning of arrival, so there is no need to stop at reception. Sites check in from 1pm and check out by 11am. Cabins check in from 2pm and check out by 10am.

There are no fixed reception hours. The managers live on site and move around the park through the day, so they may be gardening, cleaning or helping another guest. There is a phone number on the reception door if you need help. If you have a question before you arrive, email is best. Once you are on site, call the park manager.

Guests park at their site or cabin. A second car or a boat trailer is included at no extra charge, but space is limited, so please bring only what you need. The park does not take day visitors. Visitor parking is at the front of the park, and visitors do not drive in.

Stock up before you arrive

There is no kiosk or shop at the park. The BP Torrumbarry roadhouse, about 10 minutes away, is open 6am to 7pm daily and sells fuel, ice, bread, eggs, drinks and breakfast basics. Gunbower and Leitchville have the nearest pub, cafe and butcher. For supermarkets and medical services, Echuca is about 30 minutes away.

The taps around the park run on river water and are not for drinking. Drinking water is available from the refill station at the camp kitchen, and cabins have bottled water cooler dispensers. The park does not sell firewood, so if you plan on a small campfire, bring your own.

Bringing a boat

The park has one boat ramp on the downstream side of the weir, and it is included in your stay. Tinnies, ski boats and kayaks all launch there. There is also a public ramp nearby on the upstream side, but it is off park grounds and is not controlled by the park. Downstream of the weir is the fishing side, and upstream is where the boating, water skiing and jet skiing happen.
