You don't have to go looking for the river here, it's right there. Torrumbarry Weir Holiday Park Torrumbarry Weir backs onto the Murray, and the weir itself is close enough that you'll hear it before you see it most mornings. That's the whole pitch really. You come here for the water, whether that's a paddle before breakfast or just sitting with a coffee watching it go past.
We get a lot of anglers through, and fair enough. The weir fishing spot is one of the better-known stretches along this part of the Murray, and locals will tell you the cod and yellowbelly don't read the same books tourists do, so bring more patience than gear. Early morning and last light are your best windows. If you're new to the area, have a chat to the office when you check in, we can point you toward where people have had luck lately, though we're not going to pretend we know where every fish is hiding.
Powered caravan sites are the bulk of what we offer, and they're set up for vans of most sizes. Level ground, easy reversing, that sort of thing. We've set things up properly for caravans. If you're towing something long, give us a call ahead and we'll sort a site that won't have you doing twelve-point turns in the dark.
The waterfront cabins are the ones that go first, particularly through school holidays, so if a river view matters to you, book early. They're not flash, but they're comfortable, and there's something about having your morning tea on the deck with the Murray right there that you don't get from a site further back. A few of the older river gums around the park give good shade in the afternoon, which the kids seem to appreciate more than the adults do when it's stinking hot in January.
This is a family holiday park at its core. Kids can ride bikes around the loop roads, there's space to kick a ball, and the river's shallow enough in spots for the little ones to paddle under supervision. We're not a resort, and we won't pretend to be one. What we are is a straightforward, well-run spot where families come back year after year because it does what it says.
People often ask what there is to do besides fish. Honestly, plenty just sit still, and that's fine by us. But if you want to get out, the town of Echuca isn't far and it's worth a look for the old port and the paddle steamers if you haven't done that before. Torrumbarry itself is small, more of a locality than a town, so don't expect shops on every corner. Bring supplies or plan a trip into Echuca for anything you're missing.
Another question we get a lot: is it good for camping without a big rig? Yes. We've got riverside camping options for tents and smaller setups too, not just the powered sites. If you want to be close to the bank without a caravan, that's doable, just mention it when you're booking so we can match you to the right spot rather than sticking you next to the biggest van in the park.
Bookings during peak season fill fast, particularly for the cabins and the sites closest to the water. Shoulder season is quieter and honestly one of the better times to come, the weather's kinder and the weir's just as good to look at. If you're not fussed on exact dates, ask about availability outside school holidays, you'll usually get more choice on where you end up.
Contact the park directly for current site availability, cabin bookings and any questions about bringing pets or extra vehicles. We'd rather answer that upfront than have you turn up and find out the hard way.
Find a cabin, villa or powered site that suits you, then secure your dates in a couple of clicks.
