There are two playgrounds here, each with a slide and a swing set, plus two sandpits. Tanbark sits under both. It suits kids from about 2 to 12, so toddlers and primary-school kids both find something to do.

One playground and a sandpit sit close to the pool and the open grassed area, near the powered sites. That makes it easy to watch the kids from a deck chair if you're camped nearby, or between laps of the pool over summer. The second playground and sandpit sit in a quieter corner of the grounds.

Around the playground Torrumbarry Weir Holiday Park has a basketball area too, and an open grassed patch where most footy and other games start once the pool closes for the afternoon. The park itself sits right on Torrumbarry Weir on the Murray River, and Gunbower National Park's walking trails are a short drive away if the kids need a bigger run than the grounds can give them.

We'll say it straight: Torrumbarry Weir Holiday Park has no jumping pillow and no games room. Just the two playgrounds, two sandpits, the pool and that grassed space. Neither playground is fenced, and there's no shade over the equipment itself, just a little over the sandpits.

Bring hats and sunscreen if you're heading down over summer, since there's no shade over the play equipment itself. Quiet hours run 10pm to 7am, so pack up the footy by then. If you want a site near the pool and that first playground, mention it when you book.
